dr. julie vargas, dvm
A graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Vargas followed her passion for horses to Kentucky, where she completed an internship at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital. She then expanded her expertise in sport horse medicine while working alongside Dr. Haynes Stevens at Equine Services in Wellington, Florida.
Committed to providing comprehensive, evidence-based care, Dr. Vargas earned certifications in equine acupuncture and veterinary medical manipulation through the Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida. Her professional journey continued as the resident sport horse veterinarian for Spy Coast Farm, where she developed a deep appreciation for rehabilitation medicine, performance optimization, and the development of young sport horses.
Today, Dr. Vargas brings together expert diagnostics, advanced rehabilitation therapies, and performance-focused veterinary care to help horses achieve long-term soundness, health, and success. Her approach emphasizes individualized treatment plans that support every stage of a horse's life.

Lily Morenz
Veterinary Assistant
Lily graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor's degree in Animal Science, where she was an active member of the dressage and western riding teams and also played polo.
In 2020, she relocated to Kentucky to complete the Kentucky Equine Management Internship (KEMI), gaining extensive hands-on experience in thoroughbred breeding at Darby Dan and training at Juddmonte Farm. Following the internship, she joined Stonestreet Farm, where she continued to expand her knowledge of Thoroughbred breeding.
Lily later worked in the breeding department at Spy Coast Farm as a veterinary technician, further developing her expertise. She then joined the Young Horse Development Center overseeing the development of young sport horses from their first rides under saddle through the early stages of their competitive career.
With experience spanning performance horses and equine veterinary care, Lily brings a well-rounded approach to horsemanship, emphasizing exceptional care, and the long-term success of every horse she works with.
